Sarah Mullally, Bishop of London, appointed the first female Archbishop of Canterbury

The Church of England just signed its own death warrant. This insane development was always inevitable after the (equally insane) appointment of female bishops. I say that despite being an atheist for the past 50+ years.

  1. You wonder at the sanity of those who run the Church of England, including King Charles. The Anglican/Episcopal Church is already in really serious trouble. Their hyper-liberal, Woke and “inclusive” policies are destroying them, causing schisms, distrust, division, acrimony, splits and empty pews. Now they want to alienate their rapidly dwindling membership even further. I predict the C of E will continue its rapid downward slide and most likely disappear completely in the next 10 to 20 years and the only thing left will be beautiful, expensive to maintain abandoned buildings.

  2. Not a fan or follower of the CofE, it struck me how rapid the “rise” of Wobbly Welby and now Mullally. Both have the whiff of patronage to speed them through the ranks. I would have thought in such a large and complex organisation it would be a big help to have a wide and long experience not only for understanding but also (in a more Machiavellian vein) to have built up a good network. Like many DEI appointments I expect a lot of being “agreeable” some virtue signalling and being “a good administrator” (aka charisma and leadership bypass).
