Melissa Ann Shepard, 80, the ‘Internet Black Widow’: Is this Canada’s most dangerous woman?
Our thanks to a number of people for pointing us to this. How can it be that this evil woman isn’t spending the rest of her days in prison? A man who’d committed the same crimes against women – including murder – certainly would be. An extract from the BBC piece:
Strategos says he knew very little about Shepard when they first met and was unaware of her previous crimes, including her 1992 conviction for killing her second husband, Gordon Stewart.
Journalist Barb McKenna met Shepard soon after she was released from prison for that offence, in 1994. Shepard had served two years of a six-year manslaughter sentence for drugging Stewart and running him over twice in a car. Shepard’s defence was that Stewart had been trying to rape her at the time.
‘Shepard’s defence was that Stewart had been raping her at the time’ – ‘the time’ being when she drugged him and ran him over twice in a car. Yes, that sounds like a perfectly credible defence. And she spent just two years in prison for killing her husband. Men’s lives are cheap.
The Crown Prosecution Service on Twitter
The anti-male bias and sexual abuse fixation of the Crown Prosecution Service – led by Alison Saunders, last month’s Toxic Feminist of the Month – is reflected in its Twitter output. Mainly used for self-promotion – especially of Ms Saunders herself – it also links to a number of criminal convictions. Since the start of the year all the cited convictions in the CPS’s Twitter output have been of men, usually for sexual assault.
9 March: ‘The Red Pill’ (BBC Radio 4)
Last International Men’s Day, 9 November, I was one of many people engaged in an anti-MGM protest in Parliament Square. The video (6:30) is here.
With no prior notice, Jolyon Jenkins, a man who said he was making a programme for BBC Radio 4 about MGTOWs, joined us, and asked to record some 1:1 interviews. Those interviews form much of the substantive content of a half hour long programme titled, ‘The Red Pill’, broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on 9 March. My thanks to K for loading it onto our Vimeo channel, here. I recommend you read the short description before listening to the piece.
I’m proud of all the people who made valuable contributions to the programmes, which by definition excludes Jolyon Jenkins.
Feel free to add comments, I won’t be moderating them on this occasion.
Buzzfeed Canada is looking for writers. White males need not apply.
Our thanks to Russell for this, published a month ago. He writes:
I’m reminded of what Neil Lyndon says in No More Sex War. Replace the word ‘men’ with ‘Jews’. Bring a strong stomach to the exercise.
A loathsome article by Tom Slater (Spiked): ‘The Myth of the Male Suicide Epidemic’
The ignorance of some of the key people at Spiked with regards to feminism and men’s rights issues never ceases to amaze me. The site recently published this piece by Tom Slater, Deputy Editor. I’ve posted the following comments and invite you to post comments of your own.
What a truly loathsome article, in part because you quote a particularly vile radical feminist, Jane Powell. Her view basically boils down to ‘men should act more like women’. Ha. When they do, and seek support, it’s rarely forthcoming, e.g. fewer than 20 of the 4,500+ refuge places in domestic violence refuges in the UK are devoted to straight men. What good does talking do for a man denied access to his children by a malicious ex-partner intent on frustrating contact orders? No good at all. It’s just reopening wounds. If men weren’t stoic the male suicide rate would be a great deal higher (it’s currently 3.5x the female suicide rate).
The last time I checked, suicide was the #1 killer of men under 50, and the government doesn’t give a damn. The main reason so many men are killing themselves is reactive depression, caused by such issues as being denied access to their children by Family Courts, or being the victims of domestic violence (at similar rates to women) but finding no support, often leading to homelessness (90%+ of street homeless are men).
My article for the International Business Times on male suicide:

Your ignorance about feminism is clearly profound, but for sheer mind-numbing idiocy this paragraph is hard to beat:
“Herein lies the great contradiction of men’s rights activism. Despite positioning itself against the feminisation of public life, and the demonisation of unreconstructed masculinity, men’s rights activists still buy the idea that men are somehow deficient and destructive. Apparently our problem is that we’re too blokey, too beholden to ‘archaic’ and ‘harmful’ stereotypes. As they criticise the idea that men are all misogynistic, gropers-in-waiting, they pathologise ‘male’ attitudes, suggesting men’s inbuilt inability to talk about their feelings is driving them to self-destruction.”
Men’s rights activists are NOT saying this. Radical feminists are saying this, and it’s a damned LIE. It’s also victim blaming.

JUSTICE FOR MEN & BOYS
(and the women who love them)
Sheila Thompson, 51, spurned ex-girlfriend, sent explicit revenge porn images of her former lover dressed as a woman to his friends and called him a ‘tranny c***’ on the Facebook page of his car washing business. Conditional discharge.
Our thanks to F for this. It’s said revenge porn is a ‘serious crime’ – but only when committed by men, evidently. An extract:
The revenge porn disclosure came at the end of a three-month ‘campaign of spiteful behaviour’ Thompson waged against the victim following an acrimonious split last year.
But she avoided a jail sentence at Bournemouth Magistrates Court and was instead handed a 12-month conditional discharge.
Mr Chapman, who is aged in his 40s, said afterwards that he had been denied justice. He said: ‘I wish she had pleaded not guilty so it would have been a trial. At least that way, I would have had my voice heard.
‘There’s been no chance for justice for me. The sentence is not justice.’

Neglectful mother left her daughter, 7, home alone with just juice and cake while she spent weekends with her lover 100 miles away. Another suspended sentence.
Our thanks to Francis for this. From the article:
A mother who left her seven-year-old daughter alone in their home so she could visit a lover 100 miles away has avoided a prison term because she has since had another child.
The 31-year-old left the youngster locked up in Leicester while she travelled to London to have sex with a boyfriend…
Judge Michael Stokes said: ‘You left this child alone so you could fulfil your own self-gratification, both sexually and otherwise, and you put that before your duty to your daughter – and that’s really unforgivable in a mother.
‘To leave a seven-year-old child locked in a flat with no means of access or exit… anything could have happened – a fire, an electrical fault or the child falling. There’s a dozen things that could have happened to the child and that must have passed through your mind when you went to London.’
The woman admitted four counts of child cruelty by neglect, but the judge decided to suspend her ten-month jail sentence for 18 months. [My emphasis.] He said: ‘Given the enormous amount of work and investment social services have made, it would be counter-productive to send you to prison.’
He added: ‘You now have a tiny child who you are breastfeeding and the last thing the court would want to do is send you to prison in those circumstances.’
