Meme of the week, and a collective noun for feminists: a ‘flatulence’

For many years I’ve used the 1997 edition of The Chambers Dictionary, the dictionary of choice for people like myself who are keen on Scrabble and cryptic crosswords. A much-valued supporter, Paul, recently had a brainwave, to start a ‘Meme of the week’ series, drawing on the memes on the Facebook page of the fine people at ‘A Voice for Men’.

Because ‘meme’ wasn’t in the 1997 edition of my dictionary, I ordered the latest edition. It arrived today, and it’s about the size and weight of two house bricks. This is the dictionary’s definition of the word:

meme n a practise, belief, or other cultural feature that is passed on other than by genetic means (biol); an idea or question that is disseminated via the Internet and changes in form during the course of being passed on.

As well as all the definitions and much else, there’s a 64-page section in the middle of the book, most of which consists of The Word Lover’s Miscellany. From this enlightening and entertaining section I learned of a long list of collective nouns, the following being my personal favourites:

A clowder or glaring of cats

A coalition of cheetahs

A flatulence of feminists

A glint or troubling of goldfish

An implausibility of gnus

A mischief of mice

A murder of crows

An obstinacy of buffalos

A rumba of rattlesnakes

An ugly of walruses

An unkindness of ravens

I may possibly have added one of my own to the list.

Back to ‘Meme of the week’. Our first alludes to a quotation usually – but erroneously – attributed to Gloria Steinem. She’s on record as saying that a (female) Australian student first wrote the line ‘A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle’ on a wall of graffiti at her university in 1970.

So… drum roll… and with thanks to Paul… our first ‘Meme of the week’:

140411 fish, bicycle, revised

Luke E Beale nominates himself for a Toady award

There are times I think we need to scrap the rule about people not being eligible for our awards when they effectively self-nominate for them. Not a day goes by without a woman – sometimes many women – self-nominating for our ‘Whiny Woman of the Month’ award in the mainstream media.

Less frequently we see men self-nominating for a Toady award, presented to men (sometimes, but not always, in positions of influence) who support the misandry-driven feminist drive for gender supremacy. Which brings me, naturally, to Luke E Beale. Only minutes ago, he emailed me this absolute gem. Seriously, I’m not making this up:

I hope I have the right email address, and I hope that you can respond to me in an upfront and intellectual manner. To make a long story short, I cannot believe there are men that hold the views about women like you do. It’s a disgrace to see some of the things you have written about and only the most ill educated of men think of women as you suggest in your horrible books. As a man myself, I support a women’s right to create her own future and to steer clear of pathetic men like you. I am trying to write this with respect, so please respond Mr. Buchanan. Pretty soon, there will be a new era of more open-minded men and women dismantling everything you have written about and I cannot wait for that day. Thanks for your time.

I replied as follows:

Luke, thank you. You have the right email address, and I thank you for providing the material for my next blog piece on http://atomic-temporary-215937230.wpcomstaging.com. Gender feminism is a female supremacy movement driven by misandry, and you (and your like) are regarded as nothing more than useful idiots by feminists. I suggest you read every piece published on http://avoiceformen.com over the coming month, and thereby start to educate yourself about gender politics.

I see you’re the Vice-President of ‘Active Minds’ – is the name ironic? I can’t be bothered to google the term, but if you send me the URL, I’ll add it to my blog piece. Thank you.

Have a nice day.

Best wishes,

Mike Buchanan

To the tune of the Tom Jones classic, ‘Delilah’: “Whine, whine, whine, Caroline…”

It transpires one of our supporters has a certain genius as a lyric writer. He’s just posted the following in response to today’s news that we’ve awarded Caroline Criado-Perez our ‘Whiny Woman of the Month” award, just days after she won our ‘Lying Woman of the Month’ award. Enjoy:

“Experimental direct mind translation device upgraded to included musical brainwaves. Here are the latest test subject results. Tune sounds similar to Delilah.

I saw the light on the night that I passed by my twitter
I saw the flickering tweets flooding from her mind.
She was a woman
As she decried me I read them and made up my mind.
Whine, whine, whine Caroline ah
Whine, whine, whine Caroline ah

I could see that girl was no good for me
But I was sure she deserved an award for free

At break of day when the tweets stop coming, I was waiting
I sent an email to her address which she opened in awe
she sat there laughing
then she understood the email and she laughed no more
Whine, whine, whine Caroline ah
Whine, whine, whine Caroline ah
So before you start to whine more and more
Forgive me Caroline ah I just couldn’t take any more

she sat there laughing
then she understood the email and she laughed no more
Whine, whine, whine Caroline ah
Whine, whine, whine Caroline ah

So before we award you even more
Forgive me Caroline ah I just couldn’t take any more
Forgive me Caroline ah I just couldn’t take any more”

Men are worth less than dogs (part 2)

Earlier this evening I put up a short piece about how the British justice system treats men as having less worth than dogs. I’ve been too busy today to prepare an evening meal, so about half an hour ago I went to my local curry restaurant to order a takeaway meal. On my way there, in the dark, I was passed by five or six young men, possibly in their late teens, walking in the opposite direction. One of them pushed one of his friends sharply against me, which caused me to fall over a low brick wall, hitting my head sharply against a large stone.

The young men went on their way, laughing, with one exception. He took the trouble to apologise prolifically for his friend’s behaviour, check I was OK, and help me get to my feet. I was shaken, but it soon afterwards dawned on me that it’s not just the British justice system which considers men as having less worth than dogs. Boys and young men are being taught to consider men in the same light. How can this not be damaging them psychologically? And people wonder why the #1 killer of young British men has for some years been suicide…

Abbi Kinsella, 54, defrauded her mother (suffering from dementia) of £100,000 to fund her online bingo habit

The judge clearly fancies himself as a comedian:

She denied theft, but admitted fraud. Sentencing was adjourned and judge Mark Eades said she should be prepared for a custodial sentence.

Yeah, righto, Marko.

Dawn Pinchen, 40, benefits cheat who received £35,000 by claiming she couldn’t even walk a car length, caught after being spotted on Facebook walking along the Great Wall of China. Her punishment? The usual.

Dawn Pinchen, 40, fraudulently claimed over £35,000 in the space of little more than five years. A female judge gave her a suspended sentence. What are the chances? That said, male judges are even worse in not making women accountable for their crimes.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2599531/Benefits-cheat-received-35-000-claiming-walk-car-length-caught-spotted-Facebook-walking-Great-Wall-China.html

She’s being allowed to pay back the £35,000 at the rate of £18.25 per week. Presumably the sum won’t rise with inflation, so paying it back will (in theory, anyway) take her to almost to her 77th birthday. Yeah, that’s going to happen.

A sizeable majority of students who fail to pay back their student loans are women, because they don’t earn enough over their ‘careers’ despite having ‘degrees’ in fashion and other intellectually rigorous subjects.

Hmm… is there maybe a pattern to all this?

It’s official. Men are worth less than dogs.

We’ve published many accounts where women have received only suspended sentences after trying to ruin men’s lives. Only a few days ago we posted a piece about how a woman invented a story about a primary school headmaster sexually abusing her daughter, a pupil at the school.

What happens if a woman neglects a dog to the point it dies of starvation? She receives an 18 week prison sentence:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2600651/Trainee-solicitor-starved-pet-dog-death-locking-kitchen-no-food-water-jailed-18-weeks.html

What message does this story send out to the world? This one:

The British justice system considers men as being worth less than dogs.

Caroline Criado-Perez – ‘Whiny Woman of the Month’

[Note added 10.4.14: This piece inspired a supporter to write some lyrics to be sung to the tune of the Tom Jones classic, Delilah. It starts, ‘Whine, whine, whine, Caroline…’. Enjoy:

After presenting Caroline Criado-Perez with our ‘Lying Woman of the Month’ award, I mused that in the light of her emotive response to my polite email, she was a strong contender for this month’s ‘Whiny Woman of the Month’ award. We’ve had so many emails saying she MUST win the award, that we’ve decided to present it to her. Here’s her award certificate:

140409 Caroline Criado-Perez, Whiny Woman of the Month, April 2014

Fewer than 8% of female ‘soldiers’ in US Army want combat roles

No surprises in this story, but interesting all the same:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2568233/Army-study-gives-women-taste-combat-tasks.html

It would be good to see some recognition of the fact that female soldiers in combat roles would be a liability rather than an asset. Both male and female soldiers would compromise their mission in a heartbeat rather than not give support to a wounded woman, regardless of the risk to their own lives and those of other soldiers, both male and female.
