Ruby Rose accuses Katy Perry of sexual assault as singer issues categorical denial

Our thanks to Lynn for this. An extract:

“In the allegations, Ms Rose claimed that while she was “resting” on a friend’s lap, Ms Perry “bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting v****a” on her face.

Ms Rose alleged that the encounter caused her to “projectile vomit” on Ms Perry.

The actress and model claimed she had remained silent for years because Ms Perry had previously helped her secure a US visa.

“This! And as a woman, for a myriad of reasons, opening up about W on W violence and sexual abuse seems to be 100 times harder than speaking about male predators, at least for me,” she said.

Despite the seriousness of the accusations, Ms Rose initially indicated she did not intend to pursue legal action or file a formal complaint.”

Bootcamp brings women into construction

Our thanks to Frank for this. An extract:

“Former farmer Charlie Lillington took part in the recent bootcamp, focused on women and held shortly after International Women’s Day. Lillington had experience with heavy machinery, and saw the programme as a way into a new profession, with better wages and hours than her previous career.

“I’d put the message out there to any woman, if you’re good at something, go for it. It is a male-dominated industry at the moment, but the more of us that join, the less it will be.””

Nancy Jean Trottier, 65, faces murder charge after DNA links her and husband to newborn found dead on college campus 45 years ago

Tragic. Extracts:

“Baby Rebecca was found with a plastic bag over her face and her umbilical cord still attached, according to the report. An autopsy found that she was born alive and died from acute asphyxia, or suffocation…

“A DNA analysis returned in June 2023 concluded that it is 3.481 quadrillion times more likely that the baby is the biological child of Trottier and her husband than an unrelated individual,” the report states, citing an affidavit.”
