  1. Good. These are such important and clear works from a “socialist” who understands the marxist underpinnings of feminism. Added to the reading list might be Engel’s “The Origins of the family and Private Property(1888). Because in that you find the feminist project set out in exactly the way it has been enacted up to today. The “Political Feminism” at least. Bax and Engels had one thing they didn’t see, actually changing sex or 32 “Genders”. One important point is that both were in the supposed heyday of the “Patriarchy” , according to feminists men were in charge and busy oppressing women. Yet it was men who developed the ideas, put them into practice and laws and steadily created the feminist state in the following century. Even Emeline Pankhurst simply continued the organisation and work of her much older husband, a prominent Barrister and founder of the Labour party and advocate of universal suffrage. Who died. As Bax addresses, the most pertinent question is how come men in power moved with such speed and enthusiasm to enact so much of Engel’s programme if all men collude to oppress women ?

  2. Why does the internet hate the young man killed by a tiger? | The Spectator

Somehow I think a big part of the answer is because it was a young man. Gamma Bias? Gynocentrism? Bottom line is that a young man is assumed to be entirely responsible for himself. Perhaps some on “the internet” may be similarly harsh on a young woman but I’d put money the majority being sympathetic and seeking a reason for a “vulnerable” female’s “tragic” actions. Also any similar characterization of a female as somehow responsible for their actions would no doubt be “misogyny”.
