  1. The Church had male office bearers as a deliberate counter to the sexual and social power of women. The main role of the Church was to enforce monogamy for life (a situation which doesn’t suit women, who prefer rotating temporary monogamy, with benefits).

    Marrying a divorcee with two living husbands was enough to precipitate a constitutional crisis in 1936, and abdication of King Edward VIII. Fast forward to the 2005 wedding of Charles & Camilla (who has a living husband) and the Archbishop of Canterbury is happy to issue a statement of support.

    It just gets worse and worse. Now we have a female Archbishop of Canterbury, who sees her role as overseeing the sanctification of LGBTQ+2S ‘marriage’, and the eradication of ‘misogyny’ within the Church.

    Therefore, the Church has become a meaningless institution. In the words of Philip Larkin’s ‘Aubade’, no more than: a vast, moth-eaten, musical brocade, created to pretend we never die.

    Charles III is supposed to be ‘Defender of the Faith’, by the way. He isn’t.
