Our thanks to Nigel for this in the Telegraph (£), this in the Mail. He writes:
“Interesting in the increasing use of “cultural” or “religious” reasons as well as feeling “unsafe” in the arguments to give women privileges not afforded men. As pointed out in one piece the sessions are at peak time for the clubs, after work hours. Though the complaining men will be sneered at for whinging they do a good service in pointing out those trumpeting equality have double standards. The use of cultural or religious reasons is a neat trick, these days a case based solely on sex might be lost, because it rests on the presumption all men are sex predators, itself a discriminatory belief. Whereas accommodating religious or cultural beliefs has more weight to avoid “racism” . David Lloyd Clubs claim “men haven’t asked”. Locally men did ask, from both Orthodox Jewish and Islamic Communities and the Council leisure services had to offer men-only swimming sessions as well as women-only sessions as a result!”

I married an artist who made no money – when we split, he got 60% of the house
Now think about a well paid career man writing that it is unfair his wife only worked part time and spent time on being creative and pursuing her dream of being an artist. Complaining his wife has anxiety and mental health problems that are a drag. And that being the breadwinner was stressful and had long hours. He’d be accused of being selfish and unsupportive and only thinking of money not love and respect. Indeed being the breadwinner might even be “financial abuse” showering his spouse with gifts and making her dependant on him.
Of course they can’t say it but in this is the underlying truth that she, like all her sex, simply expect their husband to provide. All this woman found is that pursuing that feminist dream of being the breadwinner and being strong and independent ends in “burnout”. Of course its all her ex husband’s fault.
