“In Norway, Statistics Norway researchers Erling Holmøy and Birger Strøm prepared a report, which revealed that government spending on women is five times greater than on men. This report, compiled by Statistics Norway, sparked debate about why the government discriminates against the two sexes. Of course, this has been downplayed, citing the fact that women care for children and live longer, but men are also parents but receive less support for healthcare, parenting, and so on. If the two sexes were supported equally by the government, these spending levels would be similar, but they aren’t, as governments worldwide spend significantly more on women.
“An average man costs the state and municipalities 3.1 million kroner over the course of his life, while women cost an average of 15.6 million kroner.
This was revealed in the outlook report that the government presented before the weekend. This creates challenges for the economy in the long term.
What most people have noticed is the enormous difference between women and men:”

No doubt much the same would apply to the UK. Of course all sorts of reasons are advanced for this. But these no longer ring true. The claim about taking care of children? Well Norway like most other such countries faces a serious population decline due to too few children! And like the UK has heavily subsidised child care. So again, like the UK, has very high female employment. Like the UK women dominate the public sector professions and like the UK wages are higher in the public sector than the private sector.
So we’re left with female use of health, welfare and social care services. And their longer lives. Whatever the rationalising the bottom line is women are 5 times the drain on the “taxpayer” in Norway. Some huge “gender gap”.
