  1. I noted the local campaign. Very heartening given that it was in Tameside that I supported a tiny organisation that was scuppered by the feminists. That was over a decade ago. So I’m so pleased there is this work.

    Just to observe that in general in Local government Public Health is often more objective about partner abuse, because public health people are generally data driven. Social Services and Children’s services are much more ideological and often are driven by “stories” and “advocacy research”. I found if I got the data to Public Health I could influence local policy. Some of this is simply because Public Health tend to be numerate and used to dealing with data. Whereas local authority Social Workers are not generally numerate and have no notion of things like sample size and probability tests etc.
