Outcry at plan by law reform chiefs to hold rape trials in ‘secret’ with the public and press banned from court

Outrageous. This is but the next proposed step in the decades-long feminist quest for juryless rape trials. I predict the next government, particularly if it’s a Labour government, as forecast, will introduce juryless rape trials. Needless to say, it won’t be flagged in their next election manifesto. The Labour government didn’t flag its intention to introduce the Abortion Act 1967 and used the smokescreen of a Private Menber’s Bill introduced by David Steel, a 29-year-old Liberal MP, to kick off the process. This afternoon I’ll be travelling to Milton Keynes for my first pro-life conference, one run by SPUC, the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children. Tickets have sold out, sadly.

Grandmother Teresa Hanson, 54, is found guilty of murdering her husband of 34 years who she accused of getting drunk on Rioja while she prepared Mediterranean tart and then plunged kitchen knife into his heart – before carrying on caramelising the onions

Our thanks to Gerry for this. The start of the piece:

A grandmother murdered her husband of 34 years by plunging a kitchen knife into his heart while preparing a post-Christmas dinner.

Hairdresser Teresa Hanson, 54, was making a Mediterranean tart in the kitchen of their marital home when she fatally wounded Paul Hanson, 54, in West Cowick, East Yorkshire, last December.

Hanson deliberately thrust the knife into his chest before continuing to caramelise onions with the same bloodied blade, jurors concluded.

Why do so many teenage girls feel unsafe?

A piece by Kristina Murkett for Unherd, just published. I’ve posted these comments:
Why do so many teenage girls feel unsafe? Because feminists in the mainstream media and elsewhere have long preyed on hard-wired female anxiety and detached women and girls from reality. Far more men and boys are assaulted in the public sphere than women and girls. The UK is a very safe place for women and girls in particular. Feminists are the only group in the world deliberately seeking to make women and girls more anxious than they would naturally be, to drive their lucrative industries, notably domestic violence and rape. How did Candy Montgomery, the desperate housewife who hacked her love rival 41 times with an axe, convince a jury it was self-defence?

Our thanks to Gerry for this. He writes:
A woman slaughters her friend with an axe and then gets off with a self-defence plea. What was the jury thinking? Would they have reached the same judgement if the killer was a man? Probably not. But nobody cares.

JULIE BINDEL: Russell Brand’s ‘trial by media’? Women wouldn’t have to go public if our justice system didn’t fail us

Appalling. The start of the piece:

When I was 17, I became a feminist campaigner because I wanted to fight for a future where women feeling safe and being heard were considered everyday norms.

I’m 61 now and still fighting as hard as ever for those basic rights, which remain infuriatingly beyond our reach.

The fact that, even today — especially today — I would find it incredibly difficult to advise a woman who has been raped to go and report it to the police breaks my heart.

What clearer evidence could you seek to prove that radical feminists WANT women to believe that the police and the criminal justice system won’t give them a fair hearing? The purpose is to soften up the public to accede to outrageous feminist demands such as juryless rape trials. The Mail isn’t accepting comments on the article. Quelle surprise.

FT theatre critic brands 81-year-old actress’s make-up ‘frightful’…but the octogenarian former Vogue model says, ‘I’m not wearing any. That’s just my face’

Enjoy. Rose Knox-Peebles, the actress in question, is represented by the Ugly Models agency, and has just been interviewed on BBC Radio News.

Mary Harrington: “Why we sacrifice young girls”

An interesting piece just published by Unherd. Mary Harrington is a feminist and contributing editor. I’ve posted the following comments:
In destroying the nuclear family, and ensuring family courts deny fathers access to their children after family breakdowns through false allegations of abuse and/or violence, feminists removed the greatest protector any girl or boy had – their biological father. It would be good to see Mary Harrington and other feminists recognise this blindingly obvious reality, apologise publicly, and start making amends. Mike Buchanan JUSTICE FOR MEN & BOYS
