Outcry at plan by law reform chiefs to hold rape trials in ‘secret’ with the public and press banned from court

Outrageous. This is but the next proposed step in the decades-long feminist quest for juryless rape trials.

I predict the next government, particularly if it’s a Labour government, as forecast, will introduce juryless rape trials. Needless to say, it won’t be flagged in their next election manifesto. The Labour government didn’t flag its intention to introduce the Abortion Act 1967 and used the smokescreen of a Private Menber’s Bill introduced by David Steel, a 29-year-old Liberal MP, to kick off the process.

This afternoon I’ll be travelling to Milton Keynes for my first pro-life conference, one run by SPUC, the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children. Tickets have sold out, sadly.
