Paul Elam: The Worldwide Future of ICMI

AVfM have just published this. Paul Elam’s full statement:

Recent events surrounding the next ICMI have been testing at times, and more than a little stressful. I am happy to report, however, that out of the fray has come some new thinking and a new model for conferences in the future.
I (with an awful lot of help) started ICMI in 2014. Since then it has blossomed into iconic status in the men’s movement, calling on men and women from across the planet to unite under the same roof once a year to celebrate men and boys and call attention to the issues they face.
And as anyone who has ever hosted an ICMI can tell you, they are challenging events to pull off, putting a lot of weight on the backs of conference organizers. They are also necessary to a robust and active men’s movement.
With that in mind, I have decided (again, with the help of many) to carve out a new, better future for the event worldwide.
From this point forward, I am assigning full rights to the intellectual property known as the International Conference on Men’s Issues to specific individuals and the organizations they represent in three geographical locations.
Future conferences in Europe and North America will now be under the direction of Mike Buchanan of Justice for Men and Boys (and the women who love them). Mike has already hosted two successful conferences and has been integral to keeping the conference series alive. And by the way, I am happy to inform you that Mike is also busy preparing to launch the first national men’s conferences for the UK!
The authority for ICMIs in Australia will henceforth be handled Robert Brockway, president of the Australian Men’s Rights Association (AMRA). And as I understand matters, they are working diligently as I speak on the next conference down under. Look for news on that in the days ahead.
Last, but certainly not least, Anil Kumar and the Save Indian Family Foundation will handle all future conferences in the nation of India. And as I understand from recently speaking to Anil, the Indian crew is already in preparations for ICMI’21 in New Delhi.
What all this boils down to is an actual expansion of the ICMI dream. As each of these entities operate independently, it will be possible in the future to have multiple conferences (and national conferences) in the same year. Geography considered, there is no reason to expect that any of the three regions would be in competition with each other. Each region will be able to have an ICMI conference every year, or even more often, if they so wish.
This allows for the growth and spread of ICMI activities worldwide, while allowing other noted activists to take on ICMI planning with fresh eyes.
At this time, I want to take the opportunity congratulate and thank Mike, Robert and Anil, three activists I have had the great pleasure to know and respect over a period of years. I can’t think of three better men to take this on and to ultimately grow ICMI into a flourishing worldwide event.

I posted these comments, addressed to Paul Elam and the wider MRM:

Paul, thanks for the trust you’ve invested in me. Your Detroit conference was a groundbreaking event, and it’s been heartening to witness the events developing with each passing year, up to and including this year’s very successful event in Chicago. We look forward to working with other MRAs and anti-feminists in North America and Europe over coming years.
Thank you, as always, for being a cornerstone of the MRM, and for consistently supporting J4MB and our work.
I invite MRAs and anti-feminists wishing to host an ICMI in North America or Europe to email me at mike@j4mb.org.uk. Let’s do this.

Another reason to join us at Speakers' Corner on 15 December

A few days ago we posted a short piece about Elizabeth Hobson and Wonder Natty publicly speaking at Speakers’ Corner on Sunday, 15 December. They always get good receptions from large and attentive audiences there. We’ll be introducing some new placard designs including one on abortion and one on domestic violence.
Now there’s another reason to join us on 15 December. For some time Elizabeth and I have been in discussions with a TV production company. One of their senior people has agreed to us providing the following information on this blog.

[Company name redacted] is developing a current affairs series centering on two presenters who engage with one important topical issue per episode. The two presenters come from very different social and economic backgrounds and we expect them to have opposing views on various aspects of life. We hope this will provide a grounding to explore a range of topics from different viewpoints. In each episode, the presenters will meet individuals with a spectrum of opinions and experiences. We want to see if and how the presenters’ thoughts on that particular topic change over the course of the episode.
The pilot episode will be focusing on the men’s rights movement. We want the presenters to learn more about the reasons behind the movement, to meet real people who have been affected by men’s issues and to speak to the leaders who give up their time to ensure that the movement has a voice. The presenters will then reflect on what they have learnt and how this may or may not have changed their views.
The reason behind the pilot episode, is for us to send it to TV commissioners who we have worked with many times before, with the aim of the full series getting commissioned. We thought this would be a strong topic to focus on for this, because not many current affairs programmes have focussed on the men’s rights movement. We don’t know who might commission it yet, however we will be sending it to Channel 4, ITV and VOD platforms such as Netflix and Amazon.

The perfect Xmas present for MRAs – William Collins's book "The Empathy Gap"

A few months ago William Collins’s 696-page magnum opusThe Empathy Gap: Male Disadvantages and the Mechanisms of their Neglect – was published by my publishing concern LPS publishing and I’m happy to report sales have been excellent. The lowest price I can find for new copies is £19.95 from Waterstones, here. It’s a book every MRA and anti-feminist should have in his (or her) library. It’s become my “go to” book on so many issues affecting men and boys. The Table of Contents is here.
Among the testimonials on the back cover, this from Professor Janice Fiamengo:

This man is a master, I am in awe of his work.

Erin Pizzey:

The Illustrated Empathy Gap is my ‘go to’ website for first class evidence based research into the twenty first century hostility towards the destruction of the family unit and gender based hostility towards men and boys.

Neil Lyndon:

For some years, William Collins has consistently been writing the most important journalism that is appearing anywhere in the English-speaking world. His unmatched powers of analysis and synthesis, together with an unswerving intellectual rigour and devotion to evidence-based reason, make his output a genuine treasure. Nobody on earth is doing more to demolish the wicked myths, pernicious fictions and poisonous superstitions of the modern feminist creed.

London: Asta Juskauskiene, 35, organised 'latter day medieval duel' between her lovers to decide which one would win her affection, murder trial hears

Our thanks to Mike P for this. It is likely that more women are responsible for the murders of men than vice versa, when proxy killings are included. How often do the police investigate the possibility of a proxy killing? Rarely, I would imagine, especially when the murderer isn’t tracked down. At the 2018 London conference one of the most memorable talks was that given by Ramon Sosa, My wife thought she’d hired a hitman to kill me for $12,000 (video, 44:09).

Two women and two men jointly win the Turner Prize

Tai Shani standing in front of her crap feminist “art”

I haven’t taken an interest in the Turner Prize for years, but a supporter sent me this BBC piece and suggested I might like to comment. I think the photograph above speaks for itself. From the BBC piece:

(Tai) Shani presented a brightly-coloured feminist fantasy world “beyond patriarchal limits”; while (Helen) Cammock made a film commemorating the role of women at the start of the Northern Irish Troubles in the late 1960s.

Nish Kumar booed off stage. About damned time.

For years the funniest comedy on BBC television or radio has been Dad’s Army, which was first broadcast from 1968 to 1977. I assume that it’s still being broadcast only because the hatchet-faced feminists who commission “comedy” at the BBC like its portrayal of bumbling men.
At the other end of the comedy spectrum is the utterly woeful The Mash Report, a migraine-inducing programme on BBC2, currently in its third series. The presenter is the relentlessly PC and unfunny Nish Kumar. A tip of the hat to Guido Fawkes for posting today a piece, Nish Kumar booed off stage. It includes a 40-second video presumably recorded on a smartphone. Enjoy.
All this gives me an excuse to plug our award-winning Comedy Channel. Video #21 (3:15) was recorded in February 2018, and consists of me being “interviewed” by “comedian” Desiree Burch for The Mash Report.
