Only the BBC could ask an 80-year-old woman to comment on the theft of a “Bell End” road sign.
In 2004 I was married to my second ill-fated wife (as opposed to my ill-fated second wife, you understand). On a trip to the Orkneys I asked her to take a photograph of me standing next to a road sign with an arrow pointing towards the village of Twatt. She was, I recall to this day, uncharacteristically keen on complying with my request. The sign was the one shown in the photograph in the top right-hand corner of the Wikipedia page on the village, here.
