Women and Equalities Committee: Fathers and the Workplace

The WEC held another meeting yesterday, both Philip Davies and Jess Phillips, The Yardley Gob, were present. She was gurning from the outset, as always the narcissistic teenager finding herself in a room full of adults. The video footage is here.

The first witness was Margot James, the first openly lesbian Tory MP. Starting at 10:24:24, she stated the following:

Research shows that fathers do less than half of childcare tasks within the home, at the moment, and that places too great a burden on women.

After this mind-numbingly stupid statement – I’m surprised Philip Davies didn’t laugh out loud – I couldn’t go on. It’s too early in the day to engage with idiocy at this level.

  1. She was gurning from the outset … ‘

Thank you for my loudest laugh of the day. I’m sure I came close to giving myself a hernia; thank goodness I’d just drained the last of my tea.

With regard to Margot James and the burden on women: feminists will be whining that men don’t do our share of the breast feeding next.

  2. I’ve been looking for a link to a transcript of these proceedings but without success. Am I blind, just too thick to find it or is it that there is no transcript available?
