If you ever doubted whether the men behind the ‘official’ UK International Men’s Day website are manginas…

… the proof that they are, is here. The website is promoting a Women’s Equality Party ‘celebration’ of IMD. Sickening. Our thanks to “Glen, Mark, Dan, Ally, Martin and Ben” for removing any possible remaining vestiges of doubt about their ideological leanings.

  1. Stephen Baskerville explained this phenomenon very clearly:

Fatherhood promotion groups are no more immune than anyone else from the allure of government money, which can easily end up fuelling the patronage and the problem rather than providing the solution… In its attack on independent fathers’ groups which are funded entirely by members’ contributions and receive no government money, the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges and the US Justice Department suggest countering the message of fathers’ advocates by offering financial payments to fatherhood organisations willing to toe a government-approved line and join in the vilification of fathers: ‘To counter these harmful messages [of fathers’ groups], the voices of “responsible” fathers’ groups must be heard on the subject of domestic violence and child custody – and there must be an increase in resources to these groups so their voices can be heard’.

  2. Don’t agree. IMD site couldn’t refuse to put up the WEP event along with the 64 other events. It won’t be the only one that’s feminist. (I see there’s one by men-in-heels!). But IMD don’t coordinate the events – they are all independently arranged. It was probably offered by WEP as a trap – refusing it would play to their hand in being able to claim that a peace offering was turned down.

    • Thanks Rick, comment passed. But of course there is no ‘peace offering’, only the sowing of confusion, enabled by the IMDUK refusal to criticise feminism / feminists. Last time I checked, neither C4M&B nor IMDUK websites mentioned MGM.

    • How about a men’s rights group putting on an International Women’s Day event, then see if a website such as the WEP’s gives it so much as a brief negative mention..?

  3. Trust me, there is no ‘official’ IMD group in the world. Nada, none. It’s a truly grassroots event with no central governing body and no leaders. IMD was launched by an MRA named Thomas Oaster in the early 1990s who is now deceased, and he set up no hierarchy, no copyright, not trademark…… it’s a free-for-all.

The UK “official” group was a project of Glen Poole, who promotes a philosophy of bringing feminists and men’s advocates together, and i believe he fell out with the UK IMD group a few years ago who are now going it alone.

If anyone says they are the official group of IMD anywhere, call bullshit on it. At best an IMD advocacy group can get an endorsement by previous promoters of IMD, like Jerome Teelucksingh, but that in no way gives them any authority. It’s a completely empty tag.

    • Thanks Peter, good points. I put the word official in asterisks because the MSM tends to link to it. Glen Poole’s first name is still on the list near the bottom of the website’s home page http://ukmensday.org.uk/. The site panders to an almost nauseating degree to women, and no criticism of feminism or feminists is allowed. An early line on the home page:

“Every year, International Men’s Day in the UK is marked by more and more women, men and organisations across the country.”

Women first. Even on International Men’s Day.

The absence of a mention of MGM is nothing short of scandalous.

      • Thanks Mike. It may be that Glen is still working with this particular group and I have my wires crossed, or perhaps he is there in name only now. Whatever the case I’m glad you are holding the group’s feet to the fire…. this is a men’s event and the focus needs to be clear: men’s issues, yes that includes MGM, need to be forefront and center.

BTW I sent you an email, not sure if it got to you properly as my server is malfunctioning?

    • IMD has been watered down. Glen Poole is no friend to the men’s human rights movement. He is like Hoff Sommers. He is a regret white knight. Wants to turn the clocks back so we can all go back to dropping down on one knee to pay homage to the woman god, then sacrificing our lives to her.

We have to finish what feminists have started. And they were right to do so, even though their intentions were different to what we see. They thought they were going to gain themselves a lot more privilege, which they have done. But in doing so, they have awoken many men to the truth, and that truth is a form of slavery that few of them want to participate in any longer.

The old ways of gyno/chivalry in society must go and a new more equitable construct be put in its place. This will not be achieved while we have people trying to drag us back to what has existed in the recent past.

Here in Australia IMD has been usurped also. It is sad that they cannot campaign against some of the worst evil done to boys and men. What’s the point of having an international day for men, if you aren’t going to identify the main basic causes of boys and men’s suffering?
