  1. What a grotesque corruption
    that Vera Baird (due to an unsual local dialect this is pronounced ‘Very Bad’) should be made a –

    “Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, a grade within the British order of chivalry…”

    I don’t see much chivalry about her.

    (How about ‘chicanery’ or ‘devilry’, do they work better?)

    Let’s be clear about this, her work is nothing to do with ‘equality’ or even ‘women’.

    Her PURPOSE is to use both for the profoundly selfish and political aim of getting, wielding and increasing POWER.
    Her technique is DECEPTION,
    after which her worn out tools will both be thrown away like so many empty sweet wrappers.

    “..There ain’t nothing you can name which is anything like a Dame…”

    Well, there ain’t too much you can name which is anything like THIS Dame, that’s for sure.
