Kevin Vardy is a remarkable man, who is suffering from terminal prostate cancer. He started an online petition to Jeremy Hunt MP, Health Secretary, calling for a national screening programme for prostate cancer. So far it’s received over 53,000 signatures, a remarkable number for a petition on a men’s issue.
It’s a scandal that such a programme doesn’t already exist. As many men die from prostate cancer as women die from breast cancer in the UK, and there are national screening programmes for both breast cancer and cervical cancer.
Kevin has just updated his petition website – here – to say he’ll be on BBC Radio Lancashire next Monday morning. We’ll capture the piece and publish it as soon as we can.
Reblogged this on World4Justice : NOW! Lobby Forum..
I’ll make a point of listening to that. We have a small radio (I never listen to radio these days – trash), I’ll see if I can find Radio Lancashire.
I can’t see anywhere to sign the petition so I must have done so already. I’ve promoted it on my Facebook page.
Does Kevin Vardy have a web site?
