The Karen / Sage / Janet / Hannah fundraiser has already passed the halfway mark

The $9,000 fundraiser to finance the presence at the London conference of Karen Straughan, Sage Gerard, Janet Bloomfield, and Hannah Wallen, was scheduled to run for a maximum of 46 days. Little more than 24 hours after its launch, it’s already passed the halfway mark – $4,504, to be precise.

I should particularly like to thank all the J4MB members, donors, supporters and conference delegates who’ve given generously to the appeal, many of them anonymously. If you’re in a position to donate something to help them reach their $9,000 target, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Philip Davies MP debunks feminists’ lies on prison sentencing

Our thanks to John for pointing us to this video (1:23:35) of Philip Davies MP from October 2012. The start of the (BBC) description:

Conservative backbencher Philip Davies has accused politicians of indulging in “politically correct nonsense” for saying that women are treated more unfairly than men in sentencing policies.

Speaking during a Westminster Hall debate on 16 October 2012 on the sentencing of women, the MP for Shipley said there was “unequivocal evidence that women are treated far more favourably than men”.

He claimed that 58% of male offenders who entered a guilty plea were given a custodial sentence compared with just 34% of women.

Karen, Sage, Hannah and that Judgy Bitch have a request

A fundraiser has just been launched in relation to four key people who need to attend the London conference. It includes a video (7:18) with contributions from the four of them. From the website:

Proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to the cost of travel, accommodations and expenses such as meals and transport within London for Sage Gerard, Karen Straughan, Hannah Wallen and Janet Bloomfield.

Janet Bloomfield, the blogger behind Judgybitch.com, will be speaking at the event, as will be Karen Straughan, the video blogger and speaker known as girlwriteswhat and Sage Gerard, the founder of the male college advocacy group Zen Men. Hannah Wallen, a professional photographer and videographer, will record the event for posterity and for the benefit of all who cannot attend in person.

They are all volunteers, meaning they accept no fees or honoraria for participation.

J4MB has contributed 13 conference tickets, which are a ‘reward’ for making a donation to the appeal of US$375 (£265.00 at the current exchange rate of £1.00 = US$1.41).

Please donate what you can. It’s critical that these four extraordinary and inspiring people attend the conference. Thank you for your support, as always.
