  1. PS: My first wife was a vile bitch who told me some dreadful lies and stole what she could not spend of what was at that time my top five per cent income.

  2. Men, on the other hand, do not usually have the choice to be househusbands. Exceptions are quite rare as women, despite all the equality rhetoric, are usually not interested in supporting non working men.

Risking charges of ‘whiteknighting’ I must put in a word for my wife. I am a non-working man and have been for five and a half years. I’m not a house husband (a tautology since the ‘hus’ in husband means house); I do very little about the house. My devoted wife is happy to support me and never complains that I earn nothing, make no contribution and do very little.

    I know I’m a very lucky man.

  3. Daddy, very good points made. I would like to add that the veil’s primary purpose was to shield women’s faces from the frequent sandstorms in the region, and not to ‘oppress’ them.
Indeed, western interpretations of Islamic customs are rather simplistic and often inaccurate.
Not everything on this planet was intended to oppress women. Just think of all those men who had no choice but to go fight wars. Many of them never came back, others came back crippled..
All the while women were shielded from all the danger. It is absurd that feminists have no shame or decency and interpret that as being oppressed, instead of being protected.. It is an insult to all those men drafted to fight wars.

  4. Funny. I was curious about Islamic rulings over female drivers (the fact that many Jewish societies and communities administer the very same usually escapes feminists and their sympathisers) and am fairly sure that it’s archaic overprotection rather than oppression.

Having women driven around when they need to be, and almost always in the back seat, makes me think more of a privilege structure akin to Driving Miss Daisy than that of the “caveman” attitudes commonly ascribed to Islamic cultures. Any traffic accident that might occur is likely to be head-on, offering best protection for the rearward passenger(s). It also precludes possible violence against women from road-rage incidents and indeed any legal matter pertaining to driving offences.

The more I look at Islamic societies beyond propagandist Western impressions, the less I see any of the “misogyny” with which they’re tarnished.

  5. feminism is probably the single biggest factor in family break ups and thus creates double the housing necessary, that would normally be a single household, straining resources..
All the extra make up women use for work which they would most likely not need if they stayed at home is creating extra pollution, no doubt. Men, on the other hand, do not usually have the choice to be househusbands. Exceptions are quite rare as women, despite all the equality rhetoric, are usually not interested in supporting non working men.
So yes, feminism is surely one big, unnecessary contributor to global warming and pollution.
Not to mention inefficiency, government overspending, endless litigations which are straining resources, burdening companies and reducing competitiveness due to higher labour costs.
It is my guess that we would all be far better off without feminist policies and practices.

  6. LOL. The Daily Mash is always an amusing read, and spot on, however, there is a serious side. An examination of the relative proportions of male and female consumption and waste might be instructive.
