Three weeks ago, first-year students at the University of Westminster Film School managed to do something no commercial (or state) broadcaster has yet managed to do, to the best of my knowledge. They filmed a discussion between a feminist politician (Kate Green MP, Shadow Minister for Women & Equalities) and an anti-feminist (myself) about a feminist narrative, that on the gender pay gap. The 15-minute-long video is here, please read the short description before watching the video.
Ms Green and I shared a Tube carriage for a number of stops after the discussion, it would be fair to say the atmosphere was tense…
Still brilliant. Well done, Mike, and thanks for speaking out on behalf of men and helping to debunk the feminist narrative on mainstream TV. Excellent stuff! Would loved you to have had as much uninterrupted talking time but I guess we’re all used to feminists interrupting! Would also like to hear yo ask her why there is a Minister for ‘women’ and equalities if, as she claims, the role is to support men as well. Shouldn’t it simply be ‘Minister for Equalities’? Also, would the role be open to a man? If not, why not? Especially as there are a whole bunch of inequalities relating to men in the UK – circumcision, homelessness, suicide, health spend…..the list goes on for so long you couldn’t possibly get it all out without being interrupted!

Thanks V, but this wasn’t on mainstream TV, it was filmed by first-year students at the Westminster Film School. I was knocked out by their professionalism and facilities, and hope to return. So many feminists to debate with…

Sorry, knew that. I meant to put “the feminist narrative we see so much of on mainstream TV”. I was also going to add that I wish this was actually shown on mainstream TV. I’m sure you’ll get more chances, and hopefully you will take them 🙂

Thanks for the clarification. I look forward to being invited onto BBC ‘Question Time’ or ‘Newsnight’ some time soon…
