Peter Hitchens: Blair’s secret victory? He’s taken control of the Tory party.

Our thanks to Alan for pointing us to Peter Hitchens’s insightful piece in the latest Mail on Sunday column, on Tony Blair, David Cameron, and their chums – here. Under Dave’s leadership for the past decade, the Conservative party has been a shadow of its former self, and the most perceptive chronicler of the disaster has long been Peter Hitchens.

I’m currently enjoying a little light holiday reading, the second volume (of a planned three volumes) of Charles Moore’s outstanding authorised biography of Margaret Thatcher, Everything She Wants (800+ pages, in common with the first volume). Of course Mrs T had flaws, and made mistakes, but she had a moral compass that is entirely absent in Dave. One of my favourite Hitchens books is The Cameron Delusion (2010).

  1. A considerable proportion of the sheeple still think the Tories are Tories because they’re called the Tories.
But we know different, don’t we boys and girls.
Blair lied so much he was often called ‘Bliar’.
However, Comrade Ca’moron is just as bad, if not worse.
He just manages not to get up yer nose as much.
