Nicola Sturgeon launches SNP Women’s Pledge

One of Nicola Sturgeon’s first actions after becoming the leader of SNP and First Minister was to appoint a gender-balanced cabinet. Our thanks to Jeff for pointing us to this.

Any Scotsman who votes SNP on 7 May will be a turkey voting for Xmas.

Being of 50% Scottish extraction myself, I hope that Scottish men (and Scottish women, for that matter) have more sense – for the sake of Scotland, and for the sake of the whole of the United Kingdom.

  1. The woman is a menace in every way. They don’t want equality of opportunity, they want preferential treatment to secure better outcomes. Nigel Farage was spot on when he said everyone has the same opportunity to become a City trader. To be a successful one, the hours have to be put in and time spent on client relationships. Anyone taking a year’s maternity leave and wanting to come back part-time is not meeting a core requirement of success at the job. He’s right.

  2. this shows that female ‘politicians’ are nothing more than dressed up feminists. Put a woman in charge, (sole exception being Margaret Thacher) and the first thing they are concerned with is ‘equality’ issues,no matter how many more important issues are outstanding.. If we must have equal numbers of men and women, why not then also equal numbers of blacks,Asians,Transvestites,Gays, etc…. where does this equality stop then?

If women politicians want equality so much, then they can forget about the word capability, effectivness, etc… Once again, this insane scenario is only able to go on because men,on ‘gentleman’s’ grounds are reluctant to tell women that they are not up to the job in reality. The gentleman culture is a complete disaster for a society where women have entered the workforce, public life and are competing with men for livelihood, influence and leadership..
