Next week Special Snowflake – winner of two ‘Lying Feminist of the Month’ awards, she’s yet to catch up with Caroline Criado Perez’s three awards – will be speaking at an event at the Conway Hall in London, sponsored by the Guardian. The event is titled, What’s all the fuss about feminism? and the details are here. Amazingly, the event has sold out, despite tickets selling for £15.00, but you might like to put yourself on the waiting list – it only takes moments. Assuming a Q&A session follows the talks, it would be good to have Laura Bates publicly challenged to retract the lies that led to her two ‘Lying Feminist of the Month’ awards.
The talk is in the paper’s ‘Behind the Headlines’ series, in which the paper claims to bring together a range of voices. In typical Guardian fashion, the ‘range’ in this case includes Marxist radical feminist Beatrix Campbell. It promises to be a fun evening…
While I’d like to attend the event and hand out materials to those entering Conway Hall, I have a prior engagement that means I can’t. But maybe you could be outside the venue, handing out materials? Obvious ones would include:
– the flyer I handed out to audience members before a talk Special Snowflake gave in the Hampstead branch of Waterstone’s last October. It’s here and the story of the evening is here.
– her first ‘Lying Feminist of the Month’ award.
– her second award.
Please email me [email protected] to let me know if you’ll be able to go along and hand out materials. Be sure to have a video recording capability if you can. If it’s interesting enough, we’ll post a link to it here.
