I was saddened to learn of the recent death (after a short illness) of Martin Honeysett, 71, one of my favourite British cartoonists since the 1970s. His obituary in the Telegraph is here. We offer Penny, his partner for the past 19 years, our condolences.
When I was finalising my book David and Goliatha: David Cameron – heir to Harman? in 2010, I had an idea for a cartoon for the cover, and wanted a cartoonist who was a dab hand at drawing grotesque characters. Martin was the obvious choice, and was alive, well, living in Hastings, and happy to undertake the work. He was a pleasure to work with, and his final design is here. The book is now out of print – used copies occasioally turn up on Amazon and elsewhere – but almost all the content is contained in The Glass Ceiling Delusion.
