Polish bishops, we salute you

Our thanks to R, a valued supporter of the party and a practising Christian, for emailing me about this matter. The content of his email takes up the rest of this post.

“Hi Mike, someone has just forwarded me a link to an article in the Catholic Herald, headlined, ‘Polish bishops urge legislators not to ratify European pact on violence against women’. This quote summarises their reasons:

The Family Affairs Council of the Polish bishops’ conference said: “This convention is not directed at countering violence, as its title suggests, but at imposing an ideological cultural revolution. It seeks to redefine sex as an alterable social phenomenon, rather than a biological one, and to blame the foundational communities of marriage and family for all violence.”

I wish that British bishops – Catholic and other – as well as senior clerics of other faiths, had the courage to speak out honestly, like their Polish counterparts. The article is here.”

About Mike Buchanan

I'm a men's human rights advocate, writer, and publisher. My primary focus is leading the political party I launched in 2013, Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them). I still work actively on two campaigns I launched in early 2012, Campaign for Merit in Business and the Anti-Feminism League. In 2014 I launched The Alternative Sexism Project, aiming to raise public understanding that the sexism faced by men and boys has far more grievous consequences than the sexism faced by women and girls.

  • Spot on! Not all is bad about the Christian faith it would seem, after all. But it seems to get in the way of feminist manipulation. It is time for meek and cowardly men to stand up for the truth and for what they believe in.Kowtowing to feminism is the most shameful and cowardly thing a man can do.
Being a gentleman should have nothing to do with tolerating lunatic feminism. Being a gentleman should not mean tolerating absurd propositions or outright lies, just because they were perpetrated by women. (formerly known as ladies)

  • Pingback: Poland - Polska Polish Bishops against VAWA()

  • The Catholic Church in Poland was in the vanguard of the resistance to and fall of the totalitarian regimes in Eastern Europe. So they have more recent experience of the true nature of Marxist-derived ideology in action. This is perhaps behind their seeing through the apparently chivalry of VAWG to it’s purpose to undermine “bourgeois” society at its core, family life. Though not a Catholic myself, the bishops have clear-sightedly named the danger.
I suspect Christian churches in the “Anglosphere” without this direct experience of persecution and resistance to totalitarian regimes simply fall into a trap of chivalry. They appear to miss completely that the ideology behind VAWG is implacably opposed to all organised religion as a “patriarchal plot”. Occasionally “Turkeys voting for Christmas” comes to mind with some statements from religious leaders in this country!
