Our appeal to the BBC concerning their handling of our recent complaints about ‘Newsnight’

On 20 January we sent the BBC a complaint about a piece on Newsnight concerning domestic abuse/violence. The BBC’s response displayed utter contempt for the complaint, so we’re appealing. The following has just been posted to the BBC, we’ll publish their response as soon as we receive it.

About Mike Buchanan

I'm a men's human rights advocate, writer, and publisher. My primary focus is leading the political party I launched in 2013, Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them). I still work actively on two campaigns I launched in early 2012, Campaign for Merit in Business and the Anti-Feminism League. In 2014 I launched The Alternative Sexism Project, aiming to raise public understanding that the sexism faced by men and boys has far more grievous consequences than the sexism faced by women and girls.

Sir, I submitted a Wikipedia page about you. It is still pending approval. As they do not specify precisely when it will be up for review, and do notify that since the procedure is backlogged it can take weeks, we have ample time to edit and ameliorate it so as to maximize its chances of being approved. The article can be viewed as well as edited here –

You can edit it yourself as well, as can any other person who wishes to do so. Please note that in case you do not want it to be published I will completely understand and will delete it promptly.

In case you wish to edit it, adding a picture and bio on the right hand panel would be very helpful. I would be weary of emphasizing the ‘Anti-feminist’ aspect as we all know very well how the Wiki folks are. So it would be better to downplay the Antifeminist aspect, and highlight the writer aspect only.

You do not need to approve this comment to appear on the website if you do not want to. In case you want it to be deleted, please reply to me here and I shall do so.

    • Thank you very much for this. Others have offered to submit a page about J4MB or myself, and to date I’ve always declined to support the idea. The dreadful Wikipedia entry on anti-feminism should explain why. But I’m a huge admirer of Wikipedia generally, and I hope this helps get the word out. Thank you for your support.

You are most welcome Mr. Buchanan. This is the least we can do for all the great work that you’re doing for men all over the world. Thank you.
