On 20 January we sent the BBC a complaint about a piece on Newsnight concerning domestic abuse/violence. The BBC’s response displayed utter contempt for the complaint, so we’re appealing. The following has just been posted to the BBC, we’ll publish their response as soon as we receive it.

Sir, I submitted a Wikipedia page about you. It is still pending approval. As they do not specify precisely when it will be up for review, and do notify that since the procedure is backlogged it can take weeks, we have ample time to edit and ameliorate it so as to maximize its chances of being approved. In case you wish to edit it, adding a picture and bio on the right hand panel would be very helpful. I would be weary of emphasizing the ‘Anti-feminist’ aspect as we all know very well how the Wiki folks are. So it would be better to downplay the Antifeminist aspect, and highlight the writer aspect only.

Thank you very much for this. Others have offered to submit a page about J4MB or myself, and to date I’ve always declined to support the idea. The dreadful Wikipedia entry on anti-feminism should explain why. But I’m a huge admirer of Wikipedia generally, and I hope this helps get the word out. Thank you for your support.
