Some months ago I gave oral evidence to a House of Commons inquiry, ‘Women in the Workplace’. On the same panel was Heather McGregor, the owner and chief executive of Taylor Bennett, a London-based recruitment agency. She boasted of the gender balance in her company. Of the 22 directors and employees, 20 were women.
We see the same pattern across both the public and private sectors. Men appoint women to senior jobs, and the women use their power ruthlessly to appoint women at the expense of men. My thanks to the MHRA who’s just pointed me towards a piece on the management team of an agency of the Australian government, the Workplace Gender Equality Agency. There are no men in the team. Yet another female-driven gravy train financed by taxpayers.
Feminists dream of a utopia in which women exercise not only the considerable informal power they’ve always exercised, but all the formal power too – modern feminism is, after all, the pursuit of female supremacy. How might it turn out, if women had all the formal power? History suggests it would lead to dystopia, not utopia:

Millions of men throughout history have failed to pass certain physical tests that their employment depends upon. It has always been met with acceptance because, lets face it, there are some jobs you simply should not be allowed to perform if you do not pass the physical requirements. Of course if you are a woman you don’t have to take failing a test sitting down. You can simply say you were humiliated and earn 30,000 pounds in a UK court for feeling ‘humiliated’ because you were 51 years old and could not pass a test that many men could not pass if they were 30.
