Reasons to never marry if you’re a man, #94: Spanish husband is ordered by a female judge to pay his ex-wife Ivana Moral £180,000 for 25 years of unpaid housework based on minimum wage throughout their marriage

Our thanks to Mike P for this. Needless to say, it was the wife who filed for divorce. An extract:

The separated couple share two daughters and the ruling states that Ivana had spent almost all of her time looking after their family and working as a housewife during their marriage.

Ivana’s husband must also pay her a pension equivalent to £444 per month as well as £356 and £533 to his two daughters, who are now aged 20 and 14.

The mother-of-two, who wed her ex in 1995 before asking for a divorce in 2020, has said she is happy with the payout after years of hard work.

Alice Thomson: Men, you’re the cause of our baby crisis

An article in The Times. I’ve just left the following comments:
What a ridiculous article. Men – including fathers – work and commute for many more hours than women, why should they ALSO do 50% of childcare and housework? Only a feminist could consider childcare as ‘sacrifice’, most mothers would prefer to be caring for their kids than working. Also, no mention of the 10+ million unborn children killed at the behest of their mothers since the 1967 Abortion Act. The number is still on the rise, at well over 200,000 p.a. In many cases, possibly most, the fathers are unaware of these killings, or are ignored if they want their children to live. Given that marriage today has long been so risky for men – I wrote a book on marriage, “The Fraud of the Rings” (2009) – with mothers able to deny their ex-partners contact with their kids with impunity, that we shouldn’t be surprised if many men choose not to be fathers. The predicted number of children per woman in the UK has declined from about 2.5 before the 1967 Act to about 1.5 today. This is overwhelmingly down to women. Mike Buchanan JUSTICE FOR MEN & BOYS

Julie Bindel: “Why is Canada betraying women? Tradition is not an excuse for male violence.”

Just published on Unherd. I was inspired by the title to submit the following comments:
Julie, why are you betraying lesbian victims of domestic abuse / violence? Why do you not denounce female perpetors of abuse / violence, regardless of the sex of the victims? It’s long been known that women are at a higher risk of violence from a female partner than a male partner. One of my blog pieces on the matter with a link to relevant official statistics: https://j4mbdotorgdotuk.wordpress.com/2022/12/09/are-women-more-likely-to-be-abused-in-lesbian-or-heterosexual-relationships/ The official stats accessible through that link show that a woman is almost twice as likely to have been abused (all forms, collectively) by a female partner (10.1%) than by a male partner (5.3%).
