I’ve just started a new project, creating a free audio edition of Two Men in a Car (A Businessman, a Chauffeur, and Their Holidays in France). The book has long been out of print, but used copies sometimes turn up for sale on Amazon and elsewhere. At the moment only one copy is available, here, a steal at only £108.95. The Kindle edition costs a paltry £5.94.
I’ve always had a soft spot for the book, which was published in 2008. It covers a period of time when I had much more money than after I decided to become a full-time MRA, a couple of years after the book’s publication. From the back cover:
‘Mike Buchanan is the best kind of opinionated, middle-aged, middle-class Englishman abroad: the funny kind.’ Andy Heslop
‘If you have a sense of humour, this book will put a big smile on your face. I laughed out loud many times. A refreshing absence of political correctness.’ The lovely Maureen Padley
Political correctness is a curse of the modern era. This book is not politically correct. And it celebrates la belle France: the beautiful ladies, the fine food and wine, the glorious scenery and weather, and more besides. If you’re offended by the book’s contents, kindly moan about it to someone else, not the author. He’s had more than his fill of being moaned at over the years.
Mike Buchanan is a 50-year-old overweight diabetic short-sighted businessman and published author, who lives in Bedford. He’s been a Francophile for as long as he can remember, and is rarely happier than when holidaying in France. In August 2007, following the breakdown of his second marriage, he took a holiday in France with his chauffeur, the (equally) politically-incorrect Thunderin’ Paul Carrington. The two men enjoyed themselves so much that they took a second holiday in France in July 2008. This book relates the story of both holidays, in chapters with the following titles:
1 Our first week with Anne and Mark Phillips
2 Why my dinner cost 40 times more than Paul’s
3 Hobnobbing with Ivana Trump in Monte Carlo
4 ‘Would you like to have sex with my wife?’
5 We witness a miracle in Lourdes
6 In defence of pâte de foie gras
7 Paul worries about becoming a gay icon
8 Nuits-St-Georges is twinned with Hitchin
9 ‘It’s always better if you have a big one!’
Epilogue
Apx 1 Packing list for France
Apx 2 Keith Floyd’s Boeuf a la Bourguignonne
Apx 3 Raymond Blanc’s Coq au Vin
Apx 4 Mike Buchanan’s Coq au Vin
Apx 5 The Fat Duck: Tasting Menu and Wine

Over a period of more than two years we’re posting links to one video daily from the J4MB YouTube channel. The channel includes our media appearances since 2012, 300+ videos of talks and other materials from the International Conferences on Men’s Issues (2014 – ) and other men’s issues conferences we’ve been involved with, and so much more. The individual conference playlists are here.
Our website Campaign for Merit in Business was created in the light of the considerable evidence of a causal link between increasing gender diversity on boards and corporate financial decline. Mike Buchanan, Steve Moxon and Dr Catherine Hakim (the originator of Preference Theory) presented evidence to House of Commons and House of Lords inquiries in 2012, the video of their House of Commons evidence session is here (56:50).
Finally, we run the award-winning website Laughing at Feminists. The related comedy channel (170+ videos) is here. Remember, it’s more than important to laugh at feminists, it’s a civic duty.

A generous donor has requested we post a link (video, 52:41) to the ICMI21 interview of Ann Widdecombe, who was murdered at her home about 10 weeks ago. From her Wikipedia page:
“The first hearing for Widdecombe’s suspected murder was held on 21 July at Westminster Magistrates’ Court. The prosecution, led by Kashif Malik, said that CCTV footage showed the suspect entering through Widdecombe’s front door on 8 July, wearing black gloves, and then entering the kitchen where she was eating lunch, hiding a hammer from her view. They said that the suspect asked, “Don’t suppose you have bank cards and ID?” before attacking her and stealing her wallet. The court further heard that Widdecombe died after being hit on the head with the hammer 21 times. The suspect was said to have been in Widdecombe’s home for around two minutes. The case was then sent to the Old Bailey, where the suspect also appeared on the afternoon of 21 July. He was remanded in custody at HMP Belmarsh, with further appearances at the Old Bailey including a case management hearing on 9 October, a preparation hearing on 20 November, and a provisional trial date of 8 June 2027.”

Our thanks to Jeff for this idiotic press release from the government. An extract:
“Women and girls will be better protected from harmful and dangerous attitudes, as a new national taskforce sets out to root out misogyny from across society chaired by the Minister for Women and Equalities, Bridget Phillipson.
The taskforce will bring together experts [J4MB emphasis: men-hating feminists, but I repeat myself] from across the country, along with ministers and local leaders, to discuss the lived experiences of women and girls ensuring government policy is shaped by those most affected by misogyny.
It will ask how the government can go further to tackle harmful attitudes wherever they emerge, including online, in workplaces, and in communities, so that women and girls can live their lives without fear of misogyny.”
The press release ends with this:
“The government also published statutory relationships, sex and health education guidance for schools, challenging myths about women and relationships that are spread online in the “manosphere”. [J4MB emphasis]”
