National Coalition for Men (NCFM) and others file a lawsuit against the State of California for failing to have a Commission on the Status of Men and Boys

A tip of the hat to NCFM for this initiative, the press release here. Sean Kullman is one of the plaintiffs, his article on the matter here.

Arthur Schopenhauer: “On Women”

Arthur Schopenhauer (1788 – 1860) was a German philosopher. A supporter responded in our piece linking to William Collins’s “2025 Misogyny Bills” with this:

“Way back in 1851, Arthur Schopenhauer opined that women should be kept well away from courts of law, even as witnesses, due to certain undesirable traits which they seemed unable to overcome (bottom of page 3 in link) https://www.theabsolute.net/misogyny/onwomen.html. Now, they are the jurisprudence class. What could possibly go wrong..?”

“On Women” includes this famous line:

“In our part of the world, where monogamy is in force, to marry means to halve one’s rights and to double one’s duties.”

For a mere 78p you can order from Amazon the Kindle edition of Essays of Schopenhauer. It includes “On Women” as well as 12 other essays, along with Preliminary Notes and a Biographical Note.

Junior Parker: “Love Ain’t Nothin’ But A Business Goin’ On” (1971)

I don’t have a BBC TV licence – why would I want to fund 24/7/365 anti-male propaganda? – but access to BBC radio and its archives remains free. I’m a huge fan of Cerys Matthews, in particular her weekly Blues Show, available on BBC Sounds. Her 17th February show kicked off with a song by someone I hadn’t heard of before, Junior Parker. The song title Love Ain’t Nothin’ But A Business Goin’ On.

Junior Parker (1932-71) was an American blues singer and harmonica player. YouTube has a number of files of the aforementioned track, one of them here (audio, 3:21). The following refrain appears a number of times:

Love ain’t nothing but a business goin’ on.

When there ain’t no money comin’ in,

You wake up one morning to find your baby gone.

Bargain Hunt auctioneer Charles Hanson cleared of coercive control and assault allegations related to his wife

Our thanks to Steve for this. He writes:

“Hi Mike

Was this trial really necessary? The evidentiary bar should have been much higher before he had to pay £30-40,000 for a good solicitor while she gets to have a punt for nothing.

Coercive and controlling behavior legislation should be repealed.  It’s controlling free speech in your own home.”

ANGRY WOMEN CANCEL “MISOGYNIST” COMEDIAN…

A piece (video, 14:12) by Australian SugarTits on the sacking of Oz radio commentator Marty Sheargold, fired for making some accurate observations about The Matildas, the Oz women’s soccer team.

Once again I’m reminded of a quotation, often incorrectly attribued to Voltaire:

“If you want to know who rules over you, just look for who you are not allowed to criticise.”
