An interesting piece in yesterday’s Times. An extract:

“Since May the British Medical Association (BMA) has encouraged GPs to take steps to reduce their workload, including refusing requests from hospitals to take on the care of patients with prostate cancer and heart conditions.”

100% of patients with prostate cancer and most (60%+) with heart conditions are men. 

Most GPs in the UK today are women, and the proportion is rising as older GPs (mainly men) are retiring.

The BMA website has a page on EDI, the BMA has a network of elected women and operates the BMA women initiative.
