“A woman who slashed and stabbed her husband during a prolonged campaign of domestic abuse mouthed “sorry” and made a love heart gesture towards him in court. Karen Palmer, 47 and from the Wirral, called her husband “pathetic and worthless” and flew into rages when she believed he had done something wrong.
Palmer, believed to have a personality disorder, [J4MB emphasis: Well, of course. Men never have personality disorders to explain their violence towards their partners.] would punch and kick her husband or slash him with a blade. Her victim, who the ECHO has chosen not to name because of the extent of the violence, was forced to superglue and tape his wounds closed to prevent the outside world from finding out.
Christopher Hopkins, prosecuting, told the court that the case was “highly unusual” and it was difficult to trace “what has gone so obviously wrong as described by the victim”. The court heard the Palmers had been married since 2006 but the relationship had led the victim to fall out with his family, including his parents and brother. [J4MB emphasis. The ‘relationship’ had led to that, not Karen Palmer’s actions.]”
