  1. “”very strong personal mitigation” and the uncertainty surrounding the care of her baby son, for whom she is the primary carer. ” Noted in the Independent, which describes her as “vulnerable”, in fact not so vulnerable as her prisoner boyfriend’s parents bought her a Car! I suppose the strong personal mitigation consisted of being a young attractive woman, with a baby. What seems to get totally bypassed in these cases as that the “power” is in the hands of the woman who literally has the keys to a man theoretically deprived of liberty. Somehow a male Prison officer in the similar position would not have so lenient treatment.
