“after a lifetime spent building businesses in the adult industry in which I have met thousands of women, it is sadly inevitable that a small number of improper conduct claims are being made against me”. When you read this, very long, piece what is actually on show is a lot of gossip. I note that actual investigations by the police resulted in nothing, the actual accounts are often vouched in modern victim terms but are actually about “feeling” pressured or disgusted after having the career they sought, one says her mother was present. Probably the most honest was the one who says she dreamed of being “Sam Fox” with a house of her own. Frankly I have no time for much of the “adult” industry nor the “sexual revolution” that turbo charged it. But being ungentlemanly is not the same as being evil.

A while ago, during the full on “me too” moral panic I read an analysis of the ages at which female and male “stars” make their “breakthrough” film. Basically there is a 6 year “gender gap”. Overall males tend to do so in their late 20s (often playing much younger roles) the females therefore in their early 20s. The reason ? Well because the men tend to have a history of smaller roles, TV dramas, theatre before their big break while the females are more likely to make a “leap” from obscurity to a plum role…….. I wonder how that is ?

Once women have got what they wanted out of a man (a role in one of Harvey Weinstein’s films, or a page 3 slot in David Sullivan’s ‘Daily Sport’, then Briffault’s Law kicks in…
And, if the advantages she has gained aren’t ongoing, indefinitely…?
Well, she feels ‘wronged’. Like a prostitute who hasn’t received her full fee.
