Though it takes a sociological perspective the thesis in Sex Change Society (1999 Melanie Philips) is the feminism and its adherents want to avoid adulthood and remain self centred adolescents. Dr. Spier takes us through the Psychology of this. One of the more extreme, but funny, examples of this is the parade of women (amazing of course) who are “marrying” themselves. Truly a story of our times this popped up on my home page ‘Delusional’ woman marries cartoon character after love story ‘cost thousands’ – Daily Star
The truly shocking thing is that a google search produced a number of such stories of the like, and indeed “marriages” with AI creations. Maybe the element of finding imaginary things interesting or fun is not bad. But the performance of ceremonies and public declarations seems one step from the “dressing up box” and tea parties with toys.
As an example of how female victimhood plays out in public services, this is a very good example. The report is detailed and so one can see the story unfolding. As a couple of women collude in using their supposed victimhood to attack a male colleague. The ‘vindictive’ claims that ruined a ‘Jack the lad’ police officer’s career – Manchester Evening News Surprising to me is that the Panel used common sense. What would surprise people not in public services is the sheer triviality of the accusations that fuelled this investigation and panel. Illustrating the “category creep” whereby such stuff is called “sexual harassment”. I note that the spark for this vendetta appears to have been the accused officers judgement about a DV case.
A question that does occur to me, how can a Sergeant continue if the panel has found she is the sort of person to lie and pursue a vendetta against one of her Officers? The rank has an absolutely pivotal role in any force (Oops sorry “service”). But I expect no action will be taken.
