I am pleased to announce a major new initiative, Men Stop Drinking. I shall be devoting a considerable amount of time and effort to it.
A former problem drinker, I am now abstinent and wish to do what I can to help other men with drinking problems achieve permanent abstinence. With this in mind, I have created a new website (link above), and tonight I’ll be hosting the first of a series of Zoom meetings daily (Monday – Saturday) for men who have problems with alcohol. The meetings will start at 7:00pm (19:00) GMT/UTC and last at least an hour. Details of the philosophy behind the meetings, and guidelines for them, can be found here. You can join the meetings by clicking here.
The meeting times are the best I can offer to give reasonably convenient access to people living in the UK and other European countries, as far west as the west coast of the United States.
DISCLAIMER
Drinkers with a physical dependency on alcohol are strongly urged to seek the advice of their doctor before reducing or stopping consumption. For such drinkers, the consequences of reducing or stopping drinking alcohol without professional medical support can be damaging and potentially fatal.
Attendees of the Zoom meetings are responsible for creating and implementing their own physical, mental and emotional well-being decisions, choices, actions, and results. As such they agree that Mike Buchanan (and other contributors to the meetings) cannot be held liable for their actions or inactions, or for any direct or indirect results of following the guidance of Mike and others with whom they come into contact through the meetings. Mike and these other people are not qualified to prevent, cure or treat any mental disorder or medical disease.
