  1. A decade of film noir (1945 – 55) followed WW2, largely driven by men returning from conflict to discover that their wives had been unfaithful, easily tempted by a ‘better deal’, no matter what marriage contract they’d signed. It took until the mid-1950s before Hollywood could convince us that women were all Doris Day types. Now, of course, they’re Wonderwoman, Atomic Blonde and Barbie, all rolled up into an invincible package believed only by women themselves.

Bottom line – women are defaulters. That’s their superpower. They see a contract as optional, if it doesn’t work to their benefit.
