I don’t condone the crime and I understand the custodial sentence. But the difference in treatment is striking. Pensioner who tied up and robbed 95-year old woman in Salford jailed | ITV News Granada An 81 year old man commits a crime that has no precedent in his life. He is diagnosed with a terminal cancer with 2 years left to live, unsurprisingly is diagnosed with depression and is sometimes suicidal. He then commits a crime in a confused and bungled way. He will take up a cell in our overcrowded prisons for the short time he has to live. The Judge throws the book at him. Now just for a moment lets reverse the sexes. Do we think that the mitigating factors might have led to a different result.?

The latest version of this story https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-15686189/Bully-row-cop-London-job-Scots-forces-payroll. Not only is the supposed suspended senior officer working rather than sitting at home . She’s sitting at home in Scotland while supposedly remote working in London ! Can anyone imagine such a thing happening to a male suspended from work while bullying accusations are investigated ?????????
