  1. From a video by the Comedian/satirist Leo Kearse I learned of “flashing” the Pizza Delivery Guy. As Leo says perhaps a decade ago this might be funny. Though to be honest I think in my youth it would have been seen as much more seriously bad. (20+) Facebook In the context its clear the two women expect, as Leo says, the Pizza Delivery guy to be young and embarrassed, making a quick exit as they enjoy the “joke”. But because on this occasion the Guy is not some teenage brit who understands the game, be embarrassed and make a quick exit, but some one older and from a Culture that still takes sex very seriously. Much to the women’s discomfort the guy takes this as some sort of invitation. Because of course they’ve been brought up in a society where females in particular have licence to do anything they like and not be “judged” and certainly not be punished. As Leo points out reverse the sexes and two young men exposed themselves to a pizza delivery woman (has anyone ever seen such a creature?) they’d quite likely get hauled in and charged with indecency. Should the pizza deliver gal report them. A double standard completely cut across when the delivery guy comes from a culture that takes sex seriously and deals harshly should either transgress that seriousness in favour of “a bit of fun”.

Of course we simply can’t cope with the idea that such reckless behaviour might be contributary if, as the women suggest apparently to get rid of him, he returns “next Sunday” for another display. He will no doubt then be told he’s a sexual harasser if reminds them of their promised show.

The responsibility is all on the males. And referring to the Nichols story where even our Laws and Policing follow a Victorian approach to “sex” in a society so thoroughly “sexually liberated” that I’m sure the two women in the clip never considered their actions to be serious in any way. Though in fact no one would take any action their actions are illegal, but who would take the Man’s complaint seriously if he did report indecency?

Constantly our courts send out the message women have license to do almost anything and not be “judged” . Get drunk and create havoc, no problem. Flash the delivery Guy, its a bit of fun, parade naked in a University Town (as a supposed Feminist Economics lecturer does) its “making a statement”. It no wonder young men in particular clock “double standards” and get called misogynists for doing so!
