  1. Now I must admit to a guffaw at this Furious female Labour MPs urge Starmer to make a woman his de facto deputy | Labour | The Guardian Our old friend Hatty and the wimmin in the PLP giving “working class” Keir (white knight in chief) a roasting and demanding a woman be made ….. well some made up sinecure to pretend to be “Deputy”. Ignoring that there is a Deputy PM already, and that that incumbent is a big tick on the race card! Perhaps the only answer is a whole series of Deputy PMs to reflect all the Equality Strands in the Equality Act (and of course add in some of the LGBTQ pluses that hadn’t been invented in 2010 ). I recon about 15 First Secretaries of State should cover most bases.

I’m sure there will be a lurch leftward and an influx of “amazing” women to No. 10 and government offices. And that may be a good thing, thus far the “wimmin” have sniped from the safety of backbenches or pointless junior ministries, relying on the virtue of never being responsible and taking a risk. The few that have, have tried the “misogyny” card when the wheels fall off their Departments. As the Labour government continues its omnishambles way leading up to its inevitable financial crisis, tax hikes and humiliating “bail outs”, not to mention perennial NHS crises and strikes, porous borders, housing crisis, energy crisis, defence doldrums…… etc. It may be a good thing that the assumption of feminine saintliness is undermined by a parade of female ministers clearly responsible for the debacle. And Keir could don a frock and demand “call me Kelly” just put the cherry on top.
