they already will use the licence payers to pay for any bailout/
given that what those in charge did, which I consider to be very serious and possibly a federal offence of election interference( I might be wrong), then I would expect that those from the panorama “journalists”, editors and all the way up the chain to the board of directors should be the one paying( as a percentage of their pay, including their pension).
Saying sorry( and maybe “lessons learnt”) or resigning( when they all should have been fired) means nothing, especially when they get the taxpayers to bail them out. I find that when there is a risk of personal financial loss , that it incentivises people to behave like an impartial and professional broadcaster…
saying sorry is neither transparency or accountability.
if the public ( who are neither educated or trained in journalism) can see that the panorama deliberate misinformation is wrong, then should have they( never mind all the other incidents of non impartiality and lack of professionalism).
