Our thanks to Gerry for this one. We recently posted a fascinating article from Helen Andrews called Have Women Ruined The World? Helen Andrews on The Great Feminization. In her Substack, Suzanne Venker starts off with the following *NOTE,
*NOTE: This is essentially an article about an article. A giant thank you to Helen Andrews, whose words riled me up enough to write a follow-up piece. Ms. Andrews, and only Ms. Andrews, is quoted here extensively.*
acknowledging Helen Andrews for encouraging her to write the article. Some of the Substack comments are an interesting read too. Enjoy !

This has been a problem for longer than we may care to admit. As far back as 1943, Philip Wylie wrote about the dangers of ‘momism‘ in his book ‘Generation of Vipers’.
“Mom is organisation-minded. Female organisations, she has happily discovered, are intimidating to all men. They frighten politicians to snivelling servility. Mom has many such organisations, the real purpose of which is to compel an abject compliance of her environs to her personal desires.”
Of course, politicians were almost exclusively male in those days. This doesn’t exactly act as a Recaro twin-disc brake on women getting their own way. More like bicycle cable brake-blocks attempting to slow down a heaving juggernaut. Because women look out for their own interests [Rudman & Goodwin (2004)], and men tend to defer to women (Moxon).

So, even in 1943, just one woman on a decision-making panel could influence the outcome in female favour. Wonder what the outcome of 50/50 M/F political representation will be..? Or boardroom representation? Jurisprudence?
The result is Big Sister Is Watching You.
‘1984’ was fiction. Prescient fiction, but fiction. How does ‘1984’ end..?
‘2025’ is reality. A high-heeled jackboot stamping on a male face. Forever.
