Government announces preferred candidate for Chair of Equality and Human Rights Commission, another feminist (what are the chances?), Mary-Ann Stephenson, a left-wing economist

Our thanks to Nigel for this government press release and this article (£) in the Telegraph. The appointment is fully consistent with two-tier Keir’s kowtowing to feminists whenever and wherever he can. An extract from the press release:

“Dr Mary-Ann Stephenson has 30 years of experience working on equality and human rights issues within the UK and internationally, over 20 of these at Board and CEO level. She also holds a PhD in equality law.

Positions she has held include:

  • Director of the Women’s Budget Group
  • Director of the Fawcett Society”

The woman will replace Kishwer Falkner, Baroness Falkner of Margravine. Nigel writes:

“And true to form, Labour appoints a feminist to oversee ‘human’ rights. You can bet boys and men won’t be included as humans.”

  1. Ah yes. She was previously Director of the Women’s Budget Group, claiming that men in the UK have an average of £92,762 more in total wealth than women. https://www.wbg.org.uk/publication/why-taxation-of-wealth-is-a-feminist-issue-a-gendered-analysis-of-wealth-in-great-britain/

Whereas, professional analysts seem to indicate that “women are set to own 60% of UK wealth by 2025, and this rate is growing”. https://www.hl.co.uk/financially-fearless/insights/article-hub/is-the-future-of-wealth-female

The international investment community would appear to concur with the latter. (Increase in Women’s Wealth section of the link). https://www.2xglobal.org/new-to-gender-lens-investing/why-invest-with-a-gender-lens

  2. More bad news “another appallingly shameless feminist” is appointed New miscarriage of justice watchdog chair calls leadership ‘unimpressive’ | UK News | Sky News In a way it is ironic that the case that did for her predecessor was that of Andrew Malkinson, wrongly convicted of Rape. One can’t help thinking a “believe all women” feminist with a track record in advocating for all the Domestic Abuse laws and guidance that includes “go” orders “special courts” and other measures that assume guilt without evidence and supported laws and guidance to prevent the defense in Rape cases seeing evidence. So not likely to be pushing to examine all the “unsound” Rape convictions estimated by the Criminal Bar Association following the scandal of Police and CPS routinely concealing evidence from courts in 25% of cases up to 2018.
