I suspect Gerry’s assessment is the most likely. Given the brittle nature of women’s ego I would think that because she was superior in rank and “ordered” by a junior, a chief warrant officer, and a man. She’d be looking to show him who’s “boss”. Resulting in a fatal delay caused by a sense of entitlement and superiority following being ordered to change course . After all she’d been the President’s Aide and he was not even an officer.
