  1. The meltdown about the Trump win is quite amazing. Despite the fact that the soon to be beatified Harris actually lost female votes compared to Biden it seems to becoming orthodoxy that somehow an army of lonely men were the sole reason she lost, and of course it has to be that way round because Kamala Harris being a woman had some sort of divine right to win and was only defeated because of Trump’s Lucifer like powers.

The Independent amongst others has peddled this line, despite of course no one knowing which voters may or may not be lonely. This offering is akin to a parody. The best way to help women? End the male loneliness epidemic | The Independent As usual references to Andrew Tate get in there, its always “influencers like Andrew Tate” suggesting that in fact the authors don’t know of any others (this in my impression as in all the articles I’ve read not one names any other of these many influencers) And of course the solution is to change “men”. But of course the piece inadvertently repeatedly points out the problems with its thesis. First of all if loneliness has been a growing problem over the past couple of decades, then it must have been much less of a problem in the supposedly bad old days. Secondly the actual evidence they present is all about the nurturing and early socialization of boys, their mothers and the almost completely female world of preschool and early schooling, not an cohort of Trump stormtroopers. Thirdly their example of changing this is an all boys school and programme, while simultaneously declaring all boy groupings become sites of misogyny (as we know its feminists who have been most vociferous in ending any and all exclusively male groups on this basis while declaring it vital for females to have such groups). And being critical of American parents (97%) hoping their boys grow up “emotionally strong”, a worthy goal if the supposed epidemics of “mental health” in children and young people are real, and one even more needed for girls given that they are the majority with mental health problems.

So it seems if we went back to whatever we were doing in the 1950s and 60s when loneliness was much less of a problem that would reduce loneliness in men and they’d flock to vote for a female President! Good ideas might be, letting males have all male spaces, letting children be children and not declaring everything about sex and gender is a problem from kindergarten, nurture the idea that girls and boys can interact and the latter aren’t monsters that the former must fear and shun, and possibly stop women pontificating about what men think or feel without having bothered to ask any.

Back to the clip itself, Michelle Obama exhorts men to vote for a woman, simply because she’s a woman and then tries to shame men into such a simplistic and sexist choice. hectoring and lecturing whilst displaying hypocrisy. Not a vote winner I’d say.
