  1. Of course the problem is also that, in the UK at least, having reduced the standard for women then they have reduced the standard. Thus in the days of “separate” women’s and men’s Police, with generally different duties assigned. It was possible to still have height requirements and high levels of fitness required of the men (standards that most men didn’t meet either). Having done away with such standards over the decades after I didn’t reach them (too short, colour blind with suspected asthma) our current “service” has non of the force it had in the past.
