Madness on stilts in the Telegraph. A few woman are having hot flushes, so everyone else should work in cooler work environments. Giving menopausal women fans is apparently not an option. What happens when these women are not having hot flushes? Will they be allowed to turn the heating up again? If a woman is working in a warehouse, will the entire warehouse temperature have to be adjusted in line with what one woman wants?
Not long ago we had female office workers whining that the temperatures in offices should be increased because they felt chilly (and apparently unable to find a clothes-related solution to the ‘problem’).

What a ridiculous state of affairs. Even if we disregard the needs of men we are told most women find the temperatures too cold so this would work against their interest. What if you have two or three menopausal women in the same space? Are they able to synchronise their hot flushes? If not while one is have a hot flush and wants the temperature down another is cold and wants the temperature back up. Who wins?

Thanks Dennis. Madness wins, as usual.

As a woman who is way past the menopause I believe that the proposal is against all health and safety issues. You cannot have a working temperature controlled by one woman . I worked on a medical ward and saw nurses dripping with perspiration but that can happen when the temperature is cool .. What about patients who have difficulty maintaining their temp . It’s crazy . It’s a part of life that is difficult but has to be dealt with without compromising fellow workers and patients/ service users .

Somewhat intrigued by the supposed “invasion” of a Florida “tech” recruitment fair. I noted that one of the crimes of the supposedly fake “non binary” participants (who all looked Male) was to eschew the various sessions led by “inspirational women” and instead get round to as many of the recruiters as possible, seeking jobs. It struck me this was eminently sensible and direct. Of course it also highlights one of the litany of “problems” women supposedly have; a lack of confidence. Needing a series of inspirational workshops to pluck up courage to approach recruiters. To add to this feminists want us to ad fear of competition, hiding behind “collective responsibility “, imposter syndrome, unwillingness to get dirty, fragile mental health, anxiety, fear of males, difficulty balancing work and “life”, erratic behaviour because of menstruation, pregnancy, menopause, caring for infants and children. All requiring lots of “leave”, flexible hours(aka less work) late starts, early finishes, no night shifts or weekends and the comfiest of places to work in. To listen to feminists one would be convinced women are likely to be needing so much help and so many problems it’s a wonder any are employed at all!

Thanks Groan, a brilliant summary of many women’s “problems” in relation to the world of work. Of course (given the new demand that menopausal women be empowered to lower office temperatures when they’re having hot flushes) we can add the need for any female worker to work in exactly the temperature she wants at that precise moment. Almost all outdoors jobs are done by men, how do they cope with temperature variations? It’s a mystery, all right!
Why any man would employ a woman, given the opportunity of recruiting an equally well-qualified man, is a mystery – particularly in the private sector. As for the public sector, how much damage can yet another hopeless female employee (mainly funded by male taxpayers) wreak?

And of course the madness wheels on. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12602715/Fury-string-public-bodies-develop-male-menopause-policies.html
Not that I begrudge men trying to get the same privileges accorded to women, but at the same time the sheer comedy of this requires cheesy nachos to be added to the popcorn and fully loaded hotdog as the idiocy turns to farce.
