Georgia Nicholson, 22, mother who left taxi driver blind after frenzied attack with stiletto, is jailed after original suspended sentence overturned by the Court of Appeal

Our thanks to Mike P for this. The taxi driver lost an eye and can never work as a driver again. Nicholson allegedly paid the man £4,000 “compensation”. What compensation is that for a loss of livelihood?

  1. Seeing as it is official MoJ policy to close women’s prisons and Magistrates and Judges have been issued with guidance effectively to not give custodial sentences, to achieve this closure. It is no surprise that there is a steady stream of “unduly lenient” suspended sentences handed out to convicted women. In this instance this was overturned. Even though the perpetrator is a “mum”, one of the usual excuses for a suspended sentence is that a child/children may be affected. One of the many hypocrisies of feminism is this focus on the special relationship between mother and child, when it suits, while at the same time declaring it to be sexist (or misogynistic these days) to assume mothers are specially important to children and insisting institutional childcare is the answer to this terrible burden placed on women.
