Daniel Korski pulls out of mayor race after groping claim

Appalling. The start of the piece:
Tory London mayoral hopeful Daniel Korski has pulled out of the contest, after being accused of groping by novelist and TV producer Daisy Goodwin. Mr Korski said he “categorically” denied the allegation against him. But he said he was withdrawing from the race because the pressure on his family and the “inability to get a hearing” for his message “makes it impossible for my campaign to carry on”. Ms Goodwin said he groped her during a meeting at 10 Downing Street in 2013.
So Daisy Goodwin has made an allegation – #IDontBelieveHer – against Daniel Korski, but that’s enough to force him out of the London mayoral election. Guilty until proven innocent once again, and how on earth can he possibly prove his innocence?

  1. I really don’t understand why male politicians don’t take action to stamp this sort of thing. It seems they are all too ready to see their opponents brought down by such stuff. Rather than realise that any of them can be subject to this. No one is seems is ready to point out the obvious that the allegation is made about something years ago that will be impossible to prove or disprove. Or really question why it is made so long after the facts.
While this sort of thing is an effective bullying tactic it will continue and no male politician is safe, a fact that seems to escape them.
